The trick to enjoying a movie in silence at the theater is to make an example of someone. Just make sure you look really freaking crazy while doing it. The one girl threatened to stab me for telling her to shut up, and I told her I'd use her decapitated head as a toilet if she was brave enough to step forward. I was able to enjoy "102 Dalmations" in relative peace thereafter.

I use to go to the movies every week, but now with kids and the rising prices I go very seldom, like 4 or 5 times a year. The last time I took my kid to see Wolverine it cost me like $30.00 for me and a 6 yer to get in, get popcorn and a drink. Hell for that price I could buy the damn DVD in a few months and get a years worth of Orville. Plus the other stuff, rude aholes and the like. Movies are not so fun anymore.

I usually go to the theaters before the kids get out... or before the parents get off from work. Now since TF ROTF comes out on a Wednesday.. I will just have to suck it up and hope the crowd is pretty calm, cool, and collected. But if some high school or college jerk dudes start running their mouth during my movie... I may be whipping some ass when ending credits start rollin'!!

An aside regarding concessions- you have to remember that the studios take a huge chunk of the ticket sales. A friend of mine co-owns a drive in, and when Shrek 3 played there (about 6 weeks after release) she said they still had to pay 75% of the gross ticket sales to the studio. She said that blockbusters that are new can cost them even more of the gross. They have to make their money from concessions or they would grow broke.

I stay by Reliant as well. Im pretty much the same way,I try to be tolerant and patient with people,I try to ignore certain annoyances but alot of the times it continues to happen and reaches a level of inconsideration which begins to piss me off. It pisses me off because I personally take inconsideration as disrespect, some may consider that being petty but I have always believed that its a thin line between being petty and having principles. I have respect for any and everybody until they disrespect me,then its gloves off.

[QUOTE=zx670;783166]Yeah I can understand that. My friends usually reach that point before I do and say something so I usually never have to, but even that's extremely rare.[/QUOTE I admire the fact that you can be so calm and level headed in certain situations. I really make an honest atempt to be that way. The anger managment class I took as a teen really helps and so does the fact that I have a son and I dont want him to be raised believing violence is how you solve problems. The thing that worries me is that my 1 year old son has a shorter temper than I ever had.

Well, I'm either pretty level headed or just a puss, lol. I think I'm just pretty good at blocking out stuff. I do get really pissed off at specific things though, mostly while driving or at work when people make me do more to cover their ass because they are lazy.

I hate going to the movies mainly because most movies that have been released in recent years completely suck. The 2nd main reason is because, movie theaters dont believe in a.c. anymore,I cannot enjoy a movie if Im having hot flashes like a woman going through the change of life. 3rd main reason is,I seem to always have some child sitting directly behind me,repeatedly kicking my chair. 4th reason is,people seem to lose all and any manners when in a dark theater, releasing a symphany of belches and farts.
The last two times I went to the movies(two different theaters)the movie was interupted. When I went to see Wolverine, some dumbass decided to pull a fire-alarm,right directly in the middle of my movie. The "managers" we're very unapologetic and the employees we're really rude by requesting us to "hurry up and pay for our food and drinks before somthing else happens" this was at a place called MovieGrill where you order your food and/or drinks during the movie and you pay toward the end of your movie. Since they refuse to give anyone a refund the least they couldve did was comp the food and drinks. The 2nd movie was Terminator Salvation, just when my movie was about to start the trailers, the screen went black and after about 15 minutes an employee went from theater to theater claiming that there is a black out. I go into the lobby to leave and attempt to get my money back but there we're hundreds of people on line, actually in crowd, waiting on a refund,so I just left. Now when Im interested in seeing a movie,I almost rather wait for the DVD release than going to see it in the movies. Only theater I have had a problem with was one in Oregon, they sent me and my buddy to the wrong one and we came into the right one 10 min into it...
