Don't normally disagree with Gunslinger but I will here. Kids and marriage don't go hand in hand.
I know alot of couples that got married young and/or had kids young. One couple, had a good ol' shotgun wedding (getting married only because she was pregnant). They are two of the most miserable people I have ever met. She regularly goes out and parties and cheats on him. They won't get divorced because of family and religious reasons. I hate to see what it's doing to the kids. Also know a couple that got pregnant and had the child and waited for awhile before getting married. They've had another child and are two of the best parents I've ever met and have a very strong marriage. Getting married because she is pregnant is just a recipe for disaster. You dont' have to be married to raise a kid. But getting married because you want to, that's different.

Congrats! My advice, save the freak out for when the doc tells you it's TWINS!!! Happened to me!
I learned the hard way that the pill works 99% of the time, which means that for every 100 at bats, there is a home run. I got two before getting the big "V". The good news is, if you get married, it will take a lot longer for that counter to reach 100! (j/k dear, if you are reading this!!) |

They've had another child and are two of the best parents I've ever met and have a very strong marriage, but that doesn't mean that they are at their best when executed as such. Getting married because she is pregnant is just a recipe for disaster. You dont' have to be married to raise a kid. But getting married because you want to, that's different. the point is if two people aren't interested in being together or aren't compatible they shouldn't be creating a child to be brought into that environment. socially we may snicker our nose at marriage because we are all taught nowadays we can do whatever we damn well please and behave like children rebelling against social norms under the guise of being enlightened and not bound by outdated practices, but any educated study of marriage and evolutionary psychology will reveal it isn't an arbitrary union devised by churches to control our behavior -- humans actually evolved that desire for the benefit of the species. do you people that keep talking about condoms ever use condoms?
id rather not have sex at all than wear one. i never use protection. falcon punches are the only contraceptive worth a damn. of course i also wouldnt mind if i had a kid. all the undesirables are breeding like rabbits. let my genetic superiority be a threat to them all! my babies will eat your children with their razor sharp gums. |

My wife and I just had our third and final baby last week. I cannot describe the feeling you will get when you hold your newborn and him/her looks into your eyes for the first time. I was scared to death with our first, its only natural. Being married or not doesnt matter anymore, love that baby with all your heart. Congrats.
