I heard a few tracks and loved them. Theyre not reinventing anything..and seriously, especially to the critics: you want Dio/Sabbath to do something new? Or do what they do best?...If you like Mob Rules, Dehumanizer, the last few songs they recorded for that greatest hits...you will love this!! Great riffs all around and Dio just dont age!

I love Dio era Sabbath, even more so than the vintage-Ozzy lineup. However all I've heard is the mentioned track, Bible Black.
From what I can tell and from what 've read it's a pretty heavy and sinister album..just what a Sabbath record should be. Mob Rules is still my favorite tho, Sign Of The Southern Cross is one my all-time favorite Sabbath song. im not sure what line up i dig more, i can say when ozzy was there, it seemed more simple, an he sang along the riff, kinda like humming to a song. now ronnie, his approach to a mic, is more like singing,( not that he's a great singer, but he has one hell of a strong voice, full of vengence) an the music half seemed to be more well written, different tempo, not the down, deep, slow sabbath riffs. i love both. as my buddy delta would say about alice cooper the band, an alice cooper himself. they are two different bands. but i'm not sure which one i like more though.. |
