I was talking with a buddy who told me a story his friend bought a hardly used zero turn mower for $800.00 (retail for $2,800) cause the guy was moving.
His friend bought it and turned around and sold it on Craigslist for $1,700 ($900.00 Profit) My cousin husband went to an estate sale that had a low turn out and bought a box of old coins for $250.00 Next week he took them to a dealer and sold them for $1,200.00 Love hearing these success stories. I am interested to hear other Hisstank members that had some nice buying and flipping stories for a nice profit. Video games 80s Action figures GI Joes Coins Etc. |

On 2 different occasions I bought lots off of craigslist, the 1st time was for $50, I ended up getting 60-70 complete vintage ARAH figures in excellent condition, which I ended up trading for a Flagg. The 2nd time, I paid $60 for 3 full totes of vehicles and then 4 small Rubbermaid containers full of figures and accessories. I ended up after everything pausing less than $0.25 per item.

I bought an incomplete ROC PITT from Goodwill for $5. I auctioned the almost complete Hawk for about $16, the other bits and parts for $15, and the shell at a garage sale for 25 cents.
I bought three Crimson Hisstanks I was army building. due to lack of cash, I passed on a brand new endcap of Series One Walking Dead figures including four Daryls. A year later the Daryl figures were going for $250 a piece. Fail.

I bought a Sideshow TMNT Leonardo statue exclusive from their site for $220 in 2010. Sold it this year for $760. It started out as a waitlist order that took 2 months to convert. I almost sold it for much less even before it arrived, but when it arrived it was broken and the buyer didn't want to wait for the replacement to arrive so he backed out. Of course that's far from the only Sideshow statue to go way up over several years.

My LCS had 4 figures from season 1 and they sold Daryl for $150.00 and they still have Rick. |

A few years back I was working a convention selling items and a guy came up to me looking to sell his vintage Star Wars collection. There was roughly 75 figures, cases, and accessories. I quickly glanced at the figures and told him I'd give him $150 for the entire lot which he took.
After taking them home and going through most of the lot, there was a handful of the "last 17" figures from the early 80s (I wasn't aware of the value at the time). Ended up selling an EV9D9 for $130 on ebay and the rest of the "last 17" for between $40-$60 each. |

Mine are usually car/motorcycle related.
Bought a $250 Mustang hatchback roller, traded it for a nice '87 Honda VFR 750. Rode the wheels off the thing for a couple years, sold it for $3000. Used that money, bought a 1 owner, garage kept '88 T-Bird Turbocoupe with an overheating issue. Changed the head gasket and flushed the cooling system ($250 in parts, my labor), drove it a few months, traded it even for a '90 Mustang GT with 60k original miles. Drove that a few months, traded it for a '92 Chevy standard cab 4x4 sport. Sold that a month later for $4500. Total profit by the time I was done was about $7000. |

I bought 10 iPod holders at a dollar store for a buck each, sold them on eBay for $10 each, lol. I was shocked. $90 profit.
I once bought three TRU exclusive Night Rhinos on clearance for $10 bucks each and sold them on eBay for $40 each. Another $90 profit.
