This is just my opinion though so hopefully nobody is offended by it. Ultimately, I think that the more facial hair you have, the less employable you look. Most if not all of us have been interviewed for a job at one time or another and facial hair is usually strike one.
Facial hair is a natural part of being male. Why does society think we have to be as feminine as possible in order to be employable? Why do men need to give up their manhood to be a "normal" part of society... especially when "normal" is against nature and therefore not normal. When did this become a social stigma? If you look back a few decades facial hair was not an issue. I think it is because of the Super Model/Magazine syndrome which has infected our society, made our naturally beautiful women into anorexic/bulimic self hating messes and emasculated men till they have to be squeaky when they walk and smell like perfume. The only thing a man can have that is OK is muscles.

Facial hair often makes one look unkempt, disheveled, untidy, messy, sloppy or any other word that relates to unorderly. If you can't take care of your own bodily growth then maybe you can't organize your work schedule or production output. Maybe your office or workspace will look unsightly or you as an employee will not reflect the company's best interest. Most potential employers want their employee to look well groomed and organized because it reflects well on them.

I can tell you this, I was the HRIS Coordinator at the Corporate Headquarters of a large company about 6 years ago and facial hair was a definite no-no there. Before that, I was in the military and facial hair was a no-no there as well. But then it was because we needed to be clean shaven to create a proper seal while dawning our gas mask.

Parallels are often drawn between the way someone grooms themself and the quality of their work and employability.

Typically, I shave every week or so, however I've been rocking mine since since my last shave on 4/13. Below is why it's still there.

Most potential employers want their employee to look well groomed and organized because it reflects well on them. There are plenty of exceptionally successful men who have facial hair. I think it should depend on HOW the facial hair looks.. if it is unkempt and unruly an they smell bad then draw all the parallels you want.. but if it is short, well groomed and otherwise the man has good hygiene then the opposite is true.. it actually takes a lot more time and care to make facial hair look good and maintained than it does to quickly and sloppily do a quick full shave every morning.

About 7 years back I was offered a job at Disneyland in there Customer Service dept. and they said if I accepted the position I would have to shave my goatee. I asked "For how long?" The lady just started laughing and said "forever" but to me it sounded like Squince (from the Sandlot) saying F-O-R-E-V-E-R!!! Basically I declined the position because I couldn't go with the all eyebrows look
