This is just plain sad.
You realize how many fanboys here would give their left nut to find Eels for less than $12 online, much less $8? How about something that has a chance in HFIL of being taken seriously, like a petition to put a few hundred Best of 80s packs on the HTS? But how many woudl love eels to be on pegs for 4.99? Hasbro has these things made for anywhere between 10-20 cents, then sells them to retailers at about 3.88 a unit. 4.99 still gives retailers about a 2 dollar profit margin. One of the more popular (and in my opinion likely theories) is the retailers and hasbro saw how much people would pay for these online at places like ebay and decided they could milk more from us hard working stiffs.

Really! 10-20 cents to make these things. I will invest in Hasbro stock tomorrow after I tell them to manufacture 10,000,000 each of eels and snakes eyes with black timber. According to your calculations, they make at least $3.68 a piece (3.88 - 10 to 20 cents). That is alot of robert deniro(mula/cash). |

its a rough estimation but these arent made in the US. They're outsourced to over seas companies were wages are very much at a low end so the cost from over seas manufacturing of these are not terrible expensives. I would wager perhaps 40 cents maybe 50cents at max. Either way hasbro still makes a slaughter off selling these to retailers who then make a slaughter off us by charging 7.99-10.99

i love how everyone on here is an expert on the business of companies and everything hasbro. Forget the well known notion that out of 'Cost, quality, and time' you can't have all three.

No, you see. Here's the problem. You don't know the history of Hasbro. I do.
