Part of growing up in the bay area is that I've tried every kind of food imaginable. Everything from sushi to curry to injeera. I'm surrounded by international markets that serve some of the strange stuff imaginable. But you know, I've never left the country. All the bizarre foods for the tasting are right here to be enjoyed. A few blocks from where I work, they have live turtles and frogs to be devoured and sea creatures of all sorts.
But what is the strangest food you've tasted? Did you enjoy it? I would have to say one of the strange foods I've ever had is this mummified egg stuff at a local Chinese restaurant. Despite the fact it was a year old egg, it was quite tasty. I also love frog legs, but rarely can you get them large around here. |

Elmers glue is an aquired taste
Try peanutbutter, pickle, and jelly sandwiches. Kind of a sweet and sour peanutbutter taste. That with some hot chips and you are set! We call them stoner sammiches . |

I had a kangaroo burger when I was in Perth, Australia while I was in the USMC. It wasn't bad. A little garlicky.
I'm sure I had to have eaten dog when we used to go to Tijuana and get messed up. Who knows what the hell kind of meat they use around there.
