I was at a conference on Jeju Island, South Korea and found this great place serving horse meat.

The strangest... probably the steamed "silkworms" in Korea. I don't know if they were actually silkworms, or whatever - some kind of grub, anyway. I ate ten of them on a bet. They weren't really my thing, but I could sort of see if you grew up on them, maybe.
I've also had blood pudding (kind of tasty, but still grossed me out), cow's tongue (also grossed me out, but tasted like a nice super-tender roast beef), bear meat (I'm guessing black bear), alligator (yummy), ostrich (excellent), beef sashimi and all sorts of other strange asian dishes.

I've had alligator tail, sushi, curry, frog legs. I might have had snails as a kid in a restaurant, not wild.

Well being from the south, I guess you guys would call livermush strange but we just call it poor mans patte'. Good stuff, just every once in awhile you find a hogs tooth in it, gotta learn to ignore it, toss it, and keep on munchin'!
Other than that, I had some salt and pepper squid by mistake at an asian restaruant. |
