I remember getting SnowJob, Cobra Commander, a Cobra Soldier, Major Bludd and the Vamp with Clutch all in the same day and it was less that $20 bucks back in '84. Now that would all be over $40.

I remember when a pack of cigs was 2.25 . They gradually reach 8 and change, then I moved to texas and they was only 4 and change but now they are damn near 7 bucks a pack. I'm guessing a pack in ny is over 10 dollars

So one X-mas, my uncle came over to give me and my cousin our gifts. This year however, he didn't have the Hess trucks he usually got us each year, in fact apparently he didn't have much at the time. He gave my cousin $5 and my cousin went wild, he was literally showboating around the house. Before he left, my uncle gave me all he had left....a $20 bill
I went to Ames and was bummed to learn about taxes (My parents wouldn't chip in any extra money) I wanted a Cobra Mamba but it was $19.99 or so and I didn't have enough after taxes. I finally saw that they were clearancing out the Rock Lords and with my $20 I got a vehicle (They were $5) and like 10-13 figures (They were $1 each) I had all 3 rare Jewel Lords and everything (When I finally re-aquired the Jewel Lord collection recently, I paid $30-$40 for just one of the 3 figures and thought that was a steal) |

Funny this topic comes up now. I picked up two figures last night and the bill was $17 and change. I thought, damn, only a few years ago I could have gotten 3-4 new figures for $20.

i was thinking of this the other day....when i was a teenager, i would mow the grass at my dads job...i wasnt on the payroll, and in all actuality, it was probably my dads job to do it...but he could pay me less to do it for him...anyway...this was 20years ago (man, i am old) i would spend 8-9 hours mowing this grass, on a riding mower....and get paid 100$...lot of money to a 12 year old kid!!! but i think about these companys getting paid 6-700$ to do that same job...and it only takes them about 30 mins on there rocket mowers....think of how much they could make in a day....brilliant
