i miss the days of 99cent gas. and 4.88 joes.
and when a 20oz bottle of coke was 75cents in a vending machine. not 1.25 im only 22 and i remember being a little kid wanting a squishball or a new supersoaker. or even roller skates. ive seen five year old crying over wanting an ipod. or a game system. and its like damn doesno one wanna pla outside anymore. thats one thing i think thats good thats come from the recession, people are eating at the dinner table again as a family. playing board games, playing catch, spending time together and indulging in more of lifes simple pleasures. i feel like a sentimental mush, but im not talking out of my ass ive seen stories about this on the news. sorry im tired. i babble when im tired.

$4.00 tops for a 24 case of Coke. Then Pepsi bitched about it and coke was forced to raise their prices.
Stupid Pepsi.

My daughter has the unfortunate pleaseure of having a father who believes that playing outside is far mnore fun than any game system. (like girls are the gaming demographic, but I digress) I was around at the beginning of game systems so baseball, tag, water guns, bike riding and any other form of outside activity was what was fun at the time. Even played Joes outside in marshlands created witht he garden hose. Point is, it's a new game for kids these days. Gone are the ball glove and slip n' slide and in is HALO and iTunes. Sad really.

Just last week I was passing a park while driving back home and noticed a kid flying a kite. I thought "man I didn't even know kids still played with kites these days" hah. That was always something I enjoyed doing with my Pop when I was a "wee" lad..I even had a G.I. Joe kite! |

Now 20 bucks is my minimum balance on my credit cards or what I spend on clothes every 2 weeks at the thrifts.
My Nannie(RIP) and Auntie Pat(RIP) used to send me 15$ each Christmas and that was a lot of money. To kids these days, 20 bucks is nothing. But what I learned from the toy show today is that you can have a ton of money and not want anything. |

$20 is still a lot of money to me. Damn.
I was raised by people who were born in the 1930's, though. |
