I moved in with my then-girlfriend/now-wife 10 years ago. I left some of my stuff at my parents house. A couple of years ago, I had to get a bookcase that I owned and bring up here for my daughter to use. It was nestled between two black metal cabinets that I stored all my sports cards on. When I went for the bookcase, it was full of those magazine holders you can buy. I had about 15 or so on this case. I thought I put them on the black cabinets but I guess I put them on the floor in the corner with the intent to come and get them. Between work, children's activities, etc I have put getting my stuff off too many times.
My mom calls yesterday and says that they had 2-3 inches of water and some of my stuff got wet. I'm thinking no big deal because anything on the floor doesn't mean much to me. My good stuff is on the bookcase.......then I realized the bookcase was here. When I walked into their garage (holding spot for all their stuff that gout ruined) I see all my magazine holders soaked and looking horrible. I'm digging through hoping the ones I really wanted not to be there would not be in that pile but it wasn't meant to be. My entire run of Sci-Fi Universe was destroyed and most of my Fangorias that I owned as well. I had Gamedays from all the Bills games my parents and I went to in there - gone. The Super Bowl programs from all 4 of the Bills trips - gone. This blows. It's my own damn fault, but it still sucks.
