man mine hurt so bad. probobly the worst kind of pain imaginable, i screamed like a little girl, there was all kinds of blood and thoes damn teeth took forever for them to hack out. recovery was a pain too. took what felt like forever.
afterwards i found out their is something out there to knock you out and kill the pain. go figure, last time i go to a third world country to save a few bucks on a medical procedure. the witch doctor was nice though, he gave me chilled coconut juice afterwards.

My wisdom teeth were impacted so they actually had to break my wisdom teeth and take them out in pieces. I was awake the whole time as well. I thought it was cool and was one of the few times I get to take off work and school.
I recommend an old style remedy to speed up the healing process which is to put organic herbal teabags over the wounds.

I had all four pulled at once. feeling them crack and pop them out, but not feeling the pain, is a tremendous experience and I actually enjoyed it. I didn't have any significant pain afterwards either. I had them done a few weeks before getting out of the Navy (they weren't growing in but I figured I may as well get them done for free before I ever had to have them pulled and have to pay for it) and went straight from dental to the galley for a hamburger.

Well, I'm sure it's different for everyone, but when I did got mine taken out, it wasn't a big deal. When I was younger I had some teeth pulled because of crowding, I was pretty young, so I went under. They pulled the teeth out, and it turned out that even after my braces, i still needed to get my wisdom teeth pulled, but this wasn't for years later.
They were impacted, or growing into the other teeth causing them to crowd more. So this time I went to get them pulled. This time I just took the gas, because it was cheaper... lol. They give you enough novocaine and laughing gas to get you high and drown out the pain. The process for me was quick and painless. But I think it all depends on the shape of the tooth, for example, the roots. The top two were easiest, since they had gravity on their side. The teeth had the single root so it was just an easy pull down and out they came. The bottom were a little more difficult, one came out fine, but took a little more wiggling, and the second broke mid pull. The bottom teeth had the double root, (Lol I don't know the correct term.. -_-) so the root was still in there. They got it out, and sewed everything up. They give you a bottle of pain killers to ease you through your recovery, but I didn't end up using any at all. I really think it depends on how fast you heal and how you react to the pulling. I've seen people that swell up, I didn't, or at least show I was swelling. I was also eating normal food afterward, but I think I'm a special case. I believe later that night I ate a steak... lol The only problem I had was after everything healed. The stitches were annoying since there was something in your mouth, and they eventually take them out leaving a hole to collect food. I found that to be the worst part, but after a few months the hole closes up and you're back to normal. |

I had 5 wisdom teeth (yes I had an extra) taken out when I was in my late teens. I was given gas, then an IV to knock me out ( I hate needles). When I came to, I felt no pain, and promptly fell asleep again (I don't even remember getting home). It only took about 48 hours, and I was out and about. You have nothing to worry about.

I had mine yanked when I was like 13. All 4 at once. I went under not gas but a needle, I swear it was the longest needle I've seen went from my elbow to my shoulder. I was eating regular food around 2 days after. Not that bad, breaking my tailbone the first and second time were way worse.
