I didn't like anything they did after the first three albums. First album is still their best work in my opinion (they did a few tracks with local emcee's from San Diego too) their sound got real mainstream around the same time they started pulling awards for the Canadian version of MTV.

Can't say I listen to the Wake Up Show, plus I don't keep up to date on Hip Hop like I used to.
As for L.A. heads, yeah Evidence/Dilated Peoples, Shapeshifters, Visionaries, Jurassic 5, Freestyle Felloswhip, OMD, Aceyalone, Abstract Rude, Mikah 9, Haiku D'Etat, Defari, and Subtitle are some that come to mind. I went to a show at Cal State Long Beach and it was 5 bucks and we saw J5, Black Eyed Peas (who weren't bad pre Fergie) and Ozomatli in this Auditorium there wasn't even a stage...it was such an awesome night! Taboo handed me the single of Que Dices on wax and they were talking shit about Puffy and mainstream hip hop and then a few years later they get Fergie and go FULL MAINSTREAM

Brady and Tony Da Skitzo. Tony used to be my favorite local, but some years back I don't know what happened but he started making really crap tracks and switched up his style big time. Not sure what he's doing now though.
