Target not on target - BloggingStocks
Quote:
Target said it will focus more on expanding its food offerings, such as dairy and frozen food, and will be allocating more space in new and remodeled stores to household, healthcare, and beauty items. It also said it would consolidate its private brands to make its product offerings clearer.

I think we can all respond to their "strategy" with a few suggestions of our own... I totally agree, more porn, right? |

The real problem is that people just don't have the money they had before this Economic Crash. Target is a great store but how can any store stay around when no one can afford anything. The credit crunch and the housing (boom & doom) have done more than hurt people like you and me but it has crippled retailers. I just hope Target can survive.

Target has been having a rough go for a while, since before last fall. I knew this was coming, but it's a little worse than some of us were expecting.

I blame everyone who bought figures at $4.99 and returned them at $7.99. That's right, it's all your fault.

i hope Target makes it to keep Walmart from taking over the world i mean that in a retail sense. Not to mention all the poor people who would be out of a job like thats all we need more people out of work. also with out target Gi Joe collecting will be near impossible and then Ebay will rain supreme |

yeah, you're joking, right? right? Target will re-align their strategy on markets that just takes more priority for people, thus drive their business. I already notice that their Home and Garden center have downsized. Anyone noticed that they should have a big Spring/Outdoor seasonal merchandise? now gone, as most of the stuff have been clearanced already. but i don't think the toy department would be greatly affected. probably slow and downsized, but not totally eliminated. whether or not Target has been doing good or bad.
