Need a LapTop battery

So, my Batt for my laptop in done... It gets only 40min on low power. I was just wondering, should I just get another one from HP one is there other ones out there that have better life?

My HP is one year old and just past the warranty..

Also, how do you prolong them? This is my first computer thats mine and not shared with some one else...

Oh yeah, it got 4hr+ on low and 2-3 on high power when new...

Have a HP laptop as well and when it dies I'm jumping the boat to MAC.

Oh and I bought two Battery's(3months ago) when my first one died and Now one is already going...!?!.

YEah, I'm not getting a mac, way to over rated for me. Not to mentchion $1500 more then the one I have now. For that much money I rather have a Turbo swap for my Subaru...

I love this computer I have, but the batt is a peace....

I would think that new one that went bad you shound have a warranty on?! I was told that they last at least a year and a half? Mine was 1 year....

if you paid 500$ for your laptop... well... consider urself lucky
I bought a 2200 laptop

depending how much you use it.. it will die that much faster you have to remember its a portable device not a desktop..

if you leave it on 24/7 and constantly leave it plugged in or drain it, it will last about 12-18 months.. with 'constant' use..

ever heard the saying 'give them the razor charge them for the blades'? LOL

batteres run about 100$ of if you don't want to be portable just plug it in to the wall with an A/C Adapter.. (i'd recommdend this if your not going to be using it in a mobile status

It runs most of the time, so I guess that would be why...

And yeah, it was $550. It's been good to me. I thought about getting a Mac, but could not justify it for me.

Dude I am in the same boat. My battery is fubared. I use my power cord now since I do not want to spend the scratch on a battery. I still get about an hour of life but I did get over 2 hours when it was new.

Try the Batteries Plus store. They might have a generic battery for less.

With HP you usually get a crap battery. I have had several. I actually have an extra battery around here some where. It's brand new but I don't know if it will fit your computer.

I might look at that also. HP sells them for $115 right now. Thats 1/5 of the price of this thing....
