i believe we are all products of the 80's and television babies all cut in the same mold. i don't watch t.v. at all these days, growing up i used to watch 8-11 hrs of t.v. a day for years. I remember growing up, i always had it in mind, i was always excited to see what the next generation was going to have what trends they would bring, toys, fashion, music, etc. well it's a joke we are the champions everyone is recycling our culture when we grew up. be it fashion, toys, art, everything. the only thing that grew and blew the lid off is electronics, c g i, and data storage. i wish there was something new out that was super hot, but there's not, anything more creative than what came out in the 80's toy and comic wise so i'm happy it's being recycled!!! i'm 30 living the american dream, and the 80's in hindsight was heaven a place where you could smile and live, not haveing to constantly have your game face on...that's my take anyways/opinion...i need to get my spirit back there, things are just to tense these days, too many people, everyones competing for a bread crumb.

Been collecting Transformers for a few years. I picked up a few of the Sigma 6 a few years back but never really got in to it again until recently. It's too bad the line has ended. I was never interested in the 25th Anniversary figures until I found out the siegies were coming out. Now I collect them for a troop build and also a few other select characters. Kinda regret not picking up some of the Cobra Legions when Target had them on clearance. The regular troopers would have been nice for a troop build as well. Also just picked up a few of the new Halo figures.

For toys, lately it has been the Battlestar Galactica Titanium Series die-casts. I may snag the figures down the road. Other than that, it is the Joe figures and Joe comic and maybe an occasional video game. Out of the toy and video game arena, I have an decent sized DVD collection loaded into my Sony 400 Disk DVD changer with an Escient Fireball DVD Changer Controller (www.escient.com) managing it.
My daughters obsession with Hannah Montana, Cheetah Girls and High School Musical are limiting the other items I could (or would) collect.

Transformers. Even more so than GI Joes.
I also dab into the Hot Wheels that I want to buy, the variant McFarlane sports figures, and some bigger diecast cars. Although, I have stopped on the bigger diecast cars due to how much space they take up. I also wish I could get into the NECA He-Man statues. Last edited by Snow Job; 03-16-2008 at 03:57 PM.. |
