Great job man! 3 days is amazing. Smoking is on my list. I quit about every 3 months. It's tough. I'll be pulling for you bro.

I have not smoked for years but there is a new way to quit smoking that works.
PureSmoker.com - Your #1 Source For ECigs, Parts, & Accessories! 100% Legal and 99.99% better for your Health. I have a friend who uses it and its the only thing that has worked for him ever. I'm in the process of getting my Mother, Aunt and Mother In-Law to use these products to quit. Never tried it, never will... In regards to the product that Destro recommended, I personally know nothing about it other then by seeing it featured at a few kiosks in a couple of malls over the last month. For those that are interested, but want to see how it works first hand first, check your malls. Every time I've seen the display theres always at least 5 people huddled around it, so it either works or is just very intriguing. Maybe both!! Last edited by Sysiss; 01-04-2009 at 02:20 PM.. |

Way to go guys! Keep it up! Cold turkey is the way to go.
Whenever you have the urge just remember this: as soon as you take that first drag you are instantly going to want to be back to the point you were at before you took that drag. Then think about how much work it took to get to that point. How many years, how many cigarettes it took. It's a matter of willpower. |

Here is a tip that has helped me not start smoking again. I quit in 2005 but I've smoked a few here and there since. This year I plan to be completely smoke free.
But just think of it this way, for ever $3-5 you are not wasting on a pack of cigs you can buy Joes instead!

Congrads, I never smoked but my wife does and i told her i'd stop drinking sodas if she would stop smoking (not going to ask her to give up some tough without doing it myself) and well i'm almost 4 days through the year and no sodas for me, but my wife never held up her end but i've decided i'm doing this for myself now.

Good luck to all who quit smoking!
I stopped last Feburary. It's frakking hard and what's worse is the dreams you start having. I would wake up with slight memories of having smoked, even my lungs felt like it and I'd be like "Well I guess I broke my streak" then a moment later I'd realise it was all a dream The thing no one tells you is that when you quit, you can get other health issues. My aunt quit and then she had Asthma, everytime I quit, I'd get tonsillitis. Every single time. (My Fiancee claims this is just because I have an odd family and this doesn't happen to everyone else ) So I decided when I came down with the flu last year, since I couldn't smoke at the time (Trust me, I tried) I'd just see how long I could go without one, when I reached a week, I tried for two, then a month and so on. This time I didn't get tonsillitis either (I'm assuming it's because my system was so screwed up from the flu and all the medicine I was taking for that, the bacteria didn't get a chance to form into tonsillitis) Quote:

Smoking is stupid, disgusting, unhealthy, and a waste of money. At least with Joes, you could sell them and get some of your money back, but you can't necessarily get your health back or perhaps rid of that god-awful odor that is on par with turds.
