that kind of shit makes me not go to walmart along with best buy,and micro center always asking for my name and adress just because i bought something. then they turn around and sell my info.
i literaly lose my nerve that i have left a $900 computer sale at the register. trying to tell me they have to have my info.screw them. and as for bums asking me for change. as soon as a bum ask me for money, i say"i was gonna ask you the same thing" |

I used to get stopped, but back then I had long hair and raggy clothes. Still sucked.
I always love how they would follow me where ever I would go asking if they could assist me, then when I actually needed help they were no where to be found. My biggest peeve is how I get strip searched everytime I leave Best Buy.

As a Pharmacist, I can honestly say I make pretty good money off of drug, legally. LOL
Personally, I've only ever had a problem with being in a t-shirt at the "fancy" mall here in town (Oxmoor for you locals). They didn't follow as much as didn't offer to help. Funny thing was, at the beginning of December, I set out to do all my X-mas shopping in 1 day at this mall. I dressed in a button down shirt, navy slacks, new tennis shoes, and my new P-coat, since it was cold. It was funny because I wore all this stuff to work, and everyone was like "Wow, you are all dressed up tonight" since I usually wear scrubs on thirds, and look like I'm working in P-J's, ala Arthur Dent. I go to the "fancy" mall since I really only have to buy for my wife at this point, and I cannot get anyone the help me find stuff in any of the stores. I had to practically tackle the girl at Coach to help me, and never found a person in the ladies wear section of Macy's. I've never had any problems at TRU, personally, even when I wear my Dreadnaut logo t-shirt. They really should be looking out for hoodlums like me. LOL.

That is odd.
I wear suits to work, and never get hassled since I am so pretty (really, I am), and I am even relatively mild mannered, but, if I was being escorted out of a place of business because they thought I looked unsavory, I would be tossing that manager's salad (not literally) all over the place. Ska-rew that/them. |

Next time you are surrounded I say you clock one of those assholes square in the jaw and your response should be you felt threatened whilst shopping which as a consumer in this day and age they should be kissing your ass. My two cents any ways.

When I had a mohawk 2 years ago I used to get watched all the time, everywhere. I found I had the hardest time in my work clothes(I worked construction at the time and would frequenty have my toolbag with me and I caught the bus at the mall with TRU in it. It was only one guy I really had a problem with). I had the employee follow me around and I turned and asked if there was a problem, they said they thought I stole something. I told them to call a cop- I told them I would wait- and then they could search me(they never did). I spoke to the manager after that and filed a complaint and havent had any issues since.

You know what happens to me at TRU? People think I work there and ask me to help them find stuff. It's happened twice in the last month. It's b/c I go there after work and wear khakis and dress shirts to work. Never mind TRU employees have a uniform.
Then they look at me funny when I tell them I can't help them b/c I don't work there |

Since I have never had the pleasure of working retail perhaps someone can shed some light on this one for me. So I am in Best Buy in Wilmington, NC a few months ago wearing board shorts and a surf T-shirt as most everyone in my quaint college beach town does. This is the same Best Buy that I have spent literally tens of thousands of dollars in between home theater, computers, vehicle upgrades, etc. I have my Hummer in the back getting my audio tweaked so I'm there for a couple of hours. Therefore, I methodically go through every aisle of the store learning about new gadgets and reading the backs of video games. When I get to home appliances a plain clothes female with no name tag aggressively approaches me and almost as if she is flirting with me engages me in conversation. As I attempt to break contact (she wasn't hot) she follows me (at arms length) down two more aisles rambling about how nice it is to be here and the weather and general crazy talk. Then she just walks away. When I go back to get my truck I tell the install guy about this and he seems concerned and sends someone to investigate this woman stating that all employees at BB wear uniforms. I'm just curious if she was really a nutbag or an "undercover" loss prevention officer or maybe she was just hitting on me. I would think with all the audio and alarms that they put in vehicles it would be common to have someone in the store for several hours. Insight.
