so what you are asaying is that you are better than anyone else who judges on first appearance?
you have never made any kind of judgement on anyone else without getting to know someone? I find that hard that hard to believe.......... at least judging by your sig pic ,anyway I would say you have! It's not like I am predjudice against every Guy who wears a suit. Willam S. Burroughs wore a suit, and I'm quite fond of His work. So nice try, but You fail again |

Well seeing as how You appear to be a non "it-getter" I guess I'll explain this to You as well. The Man in My sig is Brian Goldner CEO of Hasbro, and seeing as how Hasbro cuts every corner they can to make a buck (outsourcing jobs, repaints ect...) I felt mockery of Him is not out of place (yes I recognize that mocking Him, and buying his toys is strange, I'm dealing with it).

no sir, I get it just fine, I know who he is and the sad fact is I know why hasbro has done everthing it has to the g.i. joe line, most of it is not to make a buck, but to save cost to the consumer and to keep the line going,(but that is a whole different discussion) if you spent as much time doing research as you do posting your hypocritical statements, misquoting ppl and blindly blaming "the man" for raising prices on joes then maybe you would be informed enough to know the entire story.....
Bro I don't think you understand how a business operates

oh and yes, I said misquoting, your sig says it all! these may be part of the words that came out of my "cyber mouth" but they are not the words in their entirety. the words you choose to pick up on are only half the words that were said, if that were the case I could go through every post you have and put together any sentence I want!! well if you put me on your ignor list, and you are really upset, I am sorry, I did not intend to offend.... |

boba and I have our differences of opinion in other matters, but I 100% agree with his point of view here.
The simple fact of the matter is that people who dress “punk”, or in any other way that violates social norms does so intentionally to be different (the fact that they gravitate to an entirely different set of norms and social values notwithstanding). Any sociology professor can tell you that statistically, those likely to break one set of social norms (wearing “regular clothing”), are just as likely to break the rest of the same society’s cultural norms and expected behaviors. Hence, like it or not, those individuals are more likely to engage in deviant (as in “against the norm”) behavior such as shoplifting or destruction of property. It has nothing to do with stereotypes; it has to do with deviant social behaviors going hand in hand. That being said, the stereotype likely developed as a result of those deviant behaviors. At any rate, I personally agree we shouldn’t judge books by their covers. The truth of the matter though, is that society by and large does just that. If you’re going to engage in deviant behavior (Again, “against the norm”, not perverse or wrong necessarily) such as dressing “punk”, you should expect to bear the consequences of those actions. Saying “it’s not fair” is really kind of ridiculous. There’s an expected cultural norm, and you chose to break it. I think it’s unfair of anyone to expect anything else. You made the choice to be counter-cultural, deal with it. I do. |

noooo, I know nothing of business, nor anything else, I am just an average joe loving man-child, but I do run my own business, oh and also I spent 4 and a half hours talking to the lead designers, and I was able to ask them many questions about the 25th line, the movie and the future of joe and the problems that designers have when trying to get money to support the division, so I may not know business as you say , but I think I know a little bit about what the line is in for.............
