I've been using Paypal and eBay for at least 8 years now, and I've never heard of someone requesting this after winning an auction...Here's the eBay message I got
"hi there... can u just send me the invoice in my email...cant pay u here at ebay... but i have paypal..pls understand.. [email protected].. thanks men" Is this guy able to screw me over by doing this, like say he never got the item or whatever? I'm a little confused as to why he can't pay me at ebay but has paypal? He has no feedback, which makes me wonder, but still it's really odd. Any help would be welcomed. |

Get used to it, Paypal and Ebay have some weird BS interactions these days. I don't know about this situation but they put funds for something on hold for 21 days unless A) Positive Feedback was left and then 24 hours AFTER THAT they would release it, or B) 3 DAYS after Delivery Confirmation (Only if you used Paypal to print the shipping). I spent over an hour with 4 people before finally getting a "Supervisor" and after I ripped her a new one I finally got the hold released.
I will never sell on Ebay again.

it's possible that the person's eBay email is different that his PayPal ID/email or they're not tied together. Anyways, if you want to send an invoice via PayPal...
Login to your PayPal account. Click on "Request Money" tab Enter Buyer's Email address Don't forget to click on "eBay Items" button Click on "Continue" Fill up eBay auction information. Make sure you have the eBay Item#, wouldn't hurt if you copy/paste the URL too. anyway, hope it helps. |

btw, if it's a big $$ item, I would hesitate to sell. otherwise, make sure he has a confirmed address and get delivery confirmation.

I always use Paypal for my shipping and they make you track it for their protection. It's not a huge ticket item, but $40. I definitely would be pissed if I lost $40 out of my pocket.

I can't pay with Pay Pal via Ebay's checkout either. I always end up with error messages. Something about their new set-ups and my old computer. I always have to ask for either the sellers Pay Pal account info, or for them to send me an invoice directly. There is no way for a buyer to scam you in this method. Just always make sure to include all the auction info in the spaces provided by Pay Pal.
