Cup of Joe thread. Coffee talk for all tankers ;)

Hello to everyone and, thanks for stopping in.

I have a true liking for Coffee and, thought surely out of all the great tankers I have met that there are bound to be some serious fans on here other than Me!

So feel free to state a certain type of Coffee or the reason You are a connoisseur of the product of the bean.

For starters and, strictly as a guidline here are a few questions to kick it off:

1) How much Coffee (cups or pots) do you drink on average in a day?

2) Do you drink your Coffee with anything in it? (I personally like it without anything in it...as I prefer to taste the brewed goodness)

3) Do you grind your own beans at home? If so do You think it makes a difference in taste/quality?

4) Do You have a favorite brand or flavor? (either whole bean or ground)

5) Lastly for now...do You do espresso too?

Thanks for reading and, enjoy if this is your cup of Joe. Tanks again!

No worries for all tea fans...an earl grey.tetley thread is already in the mix!

1) How much Coffee (cups or pots) do you drink on average in a day?

4 Cups

2) Do you drink your Coffee with anything in it? (I personally like it without anything in it...as I prefer to taste the brewed goodness)

Cream and Sugar

3) Do you grind your own beans at home? If so do You think it makes a difference in taste/quality?

Hell yes, best way to make coffee is to grind your own. I would say it does improve quality and taste.

4) Do You have a favorite brand or flavor? (either whole bean or ground)

I own stock in Dunkin Donuts everynow and then I will buy Starbucks

5) Lastly for now...do You do espresso too?

I do red eyes when I need to cure a hang over. Red Eye = Cup of Coffee with a shot of Espresso.

1) How much Coffee (cups or pots) do you drink on average in a day?

Usually I start the day with about 3 cups. Then at night, May have another cup or two, depending on how much other forms of Caffeine I have had throughout the day.

2) Do you drink your Coffee with anything in it? (I personally like it without anything in it...as I prefer to taste the brewed goodness)

Cream and sugar

3) Do you grind your own beans at home? If so do You think it makes a difference in taste/quality?

No, I don't, so I can't say if it makes a difference.

4) Do You have a favorite brand or flavor? (either whole bean or ground)

Well, my girlfriend has a recurring shipment every month from Gevalia, which I make sure that their breakfast blend is in there. Right now, however we have been enjoying Pumpkin Spice.

5) Lastly for now...do You do espresso too?

Not typically. I have, and enjoy it, but I don't have a coffee maker at home that makes it too, so it is infrequent that I do.

1. 2-3 cups a day.

2. i take it black. unless it's diner swill. then i usually take one cream.

3. yes. mostly b/c it stays fresher longer. i usually grind a week's worth at a time.

4. i like the darkest costa rican coffee i can buy... usually from small independent roasters. in a pinch i buy kicking horse brand coffee. but it's not great value.

5. i enjoy espresso, but i don't even try making it at home.

i'm a coffee snob, best coffee i've had; Peets, Stumptown, in Italy and in Scandinavia.

If you've never had coffee that taste how it smells, you have never had really good coffee

A little sugar and a lot of cream, I like my coffee very strong though. I can drink it black if it's really good coffee.

3) Do you grind your own beans at home? If so do You think it makes a difference in taste/quality?
I have a grinder and do grind my coffee once in awhile. I use it as more of a treat though than anything. Usually I use preground. but yes huge difference in taste.

4) Do You have a favorite brand or flavor? (either whole bean or ground)

There's a local place near me that roasts it's own beans. I also love DD though.

5) Lastly for now...do You do espresso too?
Yes. I have an espresso maker as well and use it often. It's more of a sunday evening thing though for me.
