I played MtG from around Revised 'til around Ice Age, when I graduated high school and totally forgot about the game. In the summer of '01, some guys in my old D&D group convinced to pick the game back up again, and I played Friday Night Magic at the local gaming shop a few times a month 'til the winter of '05, by which time the local tournament scene was pretty much dead thanks to, for various reasons, an small influx of immature players and a large, steady exodus of most of the sensible veteran players.
I still keep up with what's going on with the game, via the internet, and I keep a few decks together - a competitive mono-red Legacy-legal Goblin deck, a competitive mono-red Legacy-legal burn deck, and a casual Legacy-legal WW Armageddon deck - to play with friends from time to time, but I've got rid of the bulk of my cards, and I don't have any desire to ever play in a tournament again. Anyway, does anybody here play (or did anybody here else used to play) Magic? |

In college for about one semester after I broke up with a crazy girl and was depressed for a bit due to that and doing badly academically. It actually got me out of the party scene for a short while.
I came in when 4th or 5th edition came out and I stopped with Ice Age, Homelands, and whatever the edition was with all of the cheap cards. I forgot what it was called but it had a lot of elves (Llanowar elves?) It was cool at the time. |

I played a few years ago (4e edition, Ice age) and i realy liked this game. Like you, i played with my D&D friends.
I never played in a tournament. I always wished to play in tournament but i never take the time to try. MTG gave to me a lot of great time with my friends and some school friend. I still have my magic cards but i don't think i will play again! We have family, kids...life is different today! Ho, think i feel nostalgic |

ICE Age was the last theme of magic I used to buy and play. only got into it for about a year and found myself addicted to it like crack so I got rid of it! I spent so much $$$ on rare cards, booster packs, and coffee playin at the coffee shops.

yeah i still play with just a few of my fridends, its casual now. our house rules are no more then one of any banned/restricted card card ( we have been playing since unlimited....were like 11-12 an didnt realize the power of some of those cards),an above all, we all chip in for beer/ food.
its a fun game, i think the birth of console/internet gaming really got rid of it. its still funthough |
