Like He-man, never collected, though. I want to start collecting the new line, but have no idea when it starts. It's still "coming in the fall".

I have 2 SDCC King Greyskulls MIB if you're interested! PM me!
Frankly, The 4 horseman ones from a few years back were the best looking He-man stuff ever made. TrapJaw looked amazing.

Haven't bought a He-Man toy since '87 (it was Snake-Face, the medusa-like Snake Man). But I have to say I am really tempted to collect the new ones Mattel is about to release.

He-Man and Beastman come out in December. Skeletor in January. Etc. I lost my entire vintage MOTU collection, except for He-Man, when I moved some years ago. I always thought about re-collecting the line, but I just wasn't willing to muster up that much cash and time simply for the sake of nostalgia. A similar feeling to why I never re-collected all my ARAH Joes that also were lost in the move. Just can't bring myself to spend hundreds upon hundreds of dollars for what I consider substandard (by my current adult standards) toys purely because I liked them as a kid. The new MOTU line coming out at the end of the year, however, is a Godsend. These have the same nostalgia factor, almost, but encased in toys that are up to my adult collector standards, and I will be collecting the entire line for as long as it lasts. |

Either way, I was looking at anywhere from 10-50 dollars per figure (shipped). While completing collections (at various times) of Comic Book Heroes, Marvel Legends, Star Wars, LotR, G.I. Joe, many NECA offerings, DCSH/UC, LEGO, Street Fighter, and tracking down assorted other vintage items we'll probably never see again (like Bowen from Dragonheart, The Shadow, Lion-O, Skeleton Warriors, etc), I simply didn't have the money laying around to re-collect anything else. So like I said, 10-50 shipped per figure was and is just too much to spend just for the nostalgia of it. Especially now with a much better line coming out. The only exception is if this new line doesn't last long enough to bring some of my favourite characters back. If that happens, I'll probably pick up a few of the vintage ones. We'll see how it goes. |
