You know, I only ever heard one song from them off a new music compilation I bought in the late 90's LOL
The song was called "Desert of Set" and it was the most metal thing I was listening to at the time. I always meant to seek out more of their stuff. At 34, I'm just as happy listening to 80s Ozzy, Maiden and Priest and all the thrash/speed metal. I caught the Sounds of the Underground tour in Chicago a few years back and was happy to see the likes of Gwar and Cannibal Corpse still alive and kicking. I can pick a handful of more recent bands I'm into: Shadows Fall, Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage and Trivium come to mind. |

There I was completely wasting, out of work and down
all inside it's so frustrating as I drift from town to town feel as though nobody cares if I live or die so I might as well begin to put some action in my life Breaking the law, breaking the law Breaking the law, breaking the law Breaking the law, breaking the law Breaking the law, breaking the law So much for the golden future, I can't even start I've had every promise broken, there's anger in my heart [ Judas Priest Lyrics are found on Lyrics at SongLyrics.com ] you don't know what it's like, you don't have a clue if you did you'd find yourselves doing the same thing too Breaking the law, breaking the law Breaking the law, breaking the law Breaking the law, breaking the law Breaking the law, breaking the law White man came across the sea Brought us pain and misery Killed our tribes killed our creed Took our game for his own need We fought him hard we fought him well Out on the plains we gave him hell But many came too much for Cree Oh will we ever be set free? Riding through dustclouds and barren wastes Galloping hard on the plains Chasing the redskins back to their holes Fighting them at their own game [ Iron Maiden Lyrics are found on Lyrics at SongLyrics.com ] Murder for freedom a stab in the back Women and children and cowards attack Run to the hills run for your lives Run to the hills run for your lives Soldier blue on the barren wastes Hunting and killing their game Raping the women and wasting the men The only good Indians are tame Selling them whisky and taking their gold Enslaving the young and destroying the old Run to the hills run for your lives

Hey, I am a HUGE metal head, but as I got older Im definately not limited to just metal. Growing up Kiss and Iron Maiden were my lifelines. Then Metallica and Slayer...as I got more into metal I got into heavier things, Obituary, Cannibal Corpse, Napalm Death...then I got more into "playing" thrash and punk on my bass and did some stuff that was sort of like Misfits meet Venom. In my early 20's I started on vocals and and was in a few different death metal bands. Now at 32 yrs old I am going BACK into the studio with my band of 5-6 years to record a new EP. My band is called LOCKED and we are a death metal/hardcore band. I love that music obviously but listin to mostly old school stuff...from King Diamond to Deep Purple....but I also really dig black metal, grind, death metal, new york hardcore, power metal....I seriously have a sick cd collection everything from Possessed to Rainbow!!
Having said that, I do like some rap..alot of underground stuff and ANYONE who is into metal I strongly suggest you try listining to a guy named Necro and pick up "the pre-fix for death" and "death rap" 90% of the songs are collaborations with metal artists and almost all the lyrics are word plays on old school metal...his brother Ill Bill is awesome too...the new cd is called "Hour Of Reprisal" and is amazing, ton of Slayer samples and guest musicians...check out a song with Max Cavellera called "War Is My Destiny"--u will definately spazz out and punch ppl in the face!! ITS JUST THAT GOOD!! \m/ |

The only albums I still have from my Misfits collection are 7 inchers. Fiend Club Monster Mash and one of the old school ones "Evil is as evil does" with Danzig making fun of Bobby Steele on one of the songs. I'm sure it's an old school bootleg, but it's still pretty cool. But then I also have some CD's (some bootlegs and some Fiend club) and a Kryst cassette.
but dude, that Kryst cassette??? that is amazingly horrible. FYI if you are ever getting rid of any misfits stuff let me know, i have a pretty decent collection and for a while i was one of the guys on misfits central who graded stuff, organized trades, etc.
