Post your best eBay find. Be it a good deal, a rare item, received more than what you paid... etc.
I used to collect Starcom toys. I bought a BattleCrane with the yellow cargo box off eBay for about $10 bucks. Got it a few days later and found the yellow cargo box was crammed full of Starcom figures, guns, backpacks, hoses and the most prized and hard to find items in Starcom's line... visors! I had 25 visors. The blueish good guy ones and the smoked bad guy ones. I scoured the internet, identified every figure, every gun and every backpack. Bagged them up and re-sold them for about $5 each. The visors I separated into the colors and sold each lot for $18 each. So for an original $10 purchase I think I made about $86 bucks! The only other time I had that happen was when I bought some vintage Star Wars cards and the seller "included for free" what he thought was junk... minty Burger King game pieces-stickers and stickers from the cereal C3PO's. Very rare items and I got them included for free. Those were the days. That stuff doesn't happen that often anymore.

My best find for a SINGLE toy is a super-rare Japanese Machinerobo (Gobots) MR-747 that I picked up on eBay for $16 shipped. The seller naturally had no idea what it was and assumed it to be a Transformer.
I held onto it for a few weeks but when a friend, a real Gobots collector, offered me $250 I couldn't say no. I'd like to get one again some day, but I am a sucker for money.

I found a mint, unopened Palisades Jim Henson figure on a buy it now for 30 bucks, right after it was posted, and immediately bought it. I then traded it for a red Zoot (which I wish I didn't have to do, but I did. . .), but it was a fantastic deal. Those things usually go for around 75-100 bucks.

Sealed '83 Viper Glider pilot.
It was the Christmas slowdown, IIRC. Simply no one was bidding. I got it for a song. EDIT: I clearly remember paying more for the filecard than the figure itself. Both were worth it. And I opened it as soon as it arrived. -PJ Last edited by Obiwanjacoby; 11-06-2007 at 05:54 AM.. |

Don't really remember, did get a masterpiece Optimus Prime for $50 including the shipping. Costs $70 in Walmart, I think.

I won a General for $9.99. Sounds and lights still work plus Helicopter! It was missing one tire though, but big deal it has like 12. And the best part I didn't have to pay shipping because is was listed by a ebay lister that was a 5 minute drive from my house. So I picked it up and the wife still doesn't know. I guess I feel guilty, but I deserve it. That was going to be my last ebay purchase for a while, but I had to get a Rowdy Roddy. So I guess it all works out the same in the end.
