Well, this series is looking very much like last year's so far. Bettman should be thrilled. His "even out the series by tiring out the Wings by making them play 3 games in four nights without a break to heal up" plan seems to have finally paid off in the third period last night. The Wings definitely looked tired by the end (though the game was tight even so). And, of course, the Refs were inept as always, this time in the favor of the Pens (too many men for 21 seconds completely unnoticed... How about Kunitz crosschecking Franzen in the head, unnoticed... nice work). Oh well, the Wings got a couple non calls in DET too. I just wish they could get consistent so the teams could know where they stand.
DET needs to win tomorrow night. Too many things could happen in a best of three. A fluke goal or two would likely win it. I'd like to see DET get this year's cup to round out their 12 (and 5 in 12 years). With their level of talent, PIT will have plenty of chances down the road. I really wish Datsyuk were playing, then Zetterberg wouldn't have to be quite so awesome every single night. He was looking pretty tired at times. C'mon Pavel, shoot up that foot, tie up that skate and finish this thing before PIT really gets some momentum... |

Thursday's game is gonna be a big one, for both teams.
The refs have been terrible on both sides, and that is really too bad. A lot of things that are obvious are not being called (on both sides). And I would love to see some actual neutral commentating as well. Pitt deserved to win last night. Wings will bounce back. But it is really obvious who the NHL wants to win. I think game 4 is going to be intense.

It was really sad to see the no call on 6 men being on the ice for 21 seconds and how do not see someone get cross checked to the side of the face! But I do agree the refs are missing calls for both sides. I hope the Wings can take it to them and win game 4, it should be another good one!

Huge huge game tonight. Wings need to win it to take the wind out of PIT's sails. If they don't, the Pens will have momentum heading back to DET. Hopefully Datsyuk plays, at least some, to take the pressure off Zetterberg and make PIT try to counter even more offensive weapons. Here's hoping Marc-Andre (feel it, feel it) falls flat tonight and the Wings light him up. Ozzie will have to come up huge I think, if he wants a final chance to put the criticism to rest and get a Conn Smythe.

Detroit with pressure early, Bettman forces a penalty against the Wings...Easy goal for Pittsburgh as OsBlow cannot find a loose puck (I am Jack's complete lack of surprise)

Luckily, the WIngs bribe Guerin to screen Fleury on their second goal

Pittsburgh has everything going for them right now. OsSuck can't make a big save to give his team a boost (He may have only faced 10 shots on the night and let in 3)
