they're more poised to win the cup this year then last....
interesting side note, I listened to all the reason why if Datsuk is out (like projected) that PIT will take the series....very interesting... |

WIngs in 4 if they are all healthy. Wings in 5 without Datsyuk.
How does Pittsburgh get better by losing Hossa?

Well the Pens certainly won't spot the first 2 games to the Wings like they did last year. After that, the next 4 games were pretty even.
You can argue that, barring injuries, both teams are better than they were last year. Should be a great series, hopefully neither team lets us down. Although I'd like to pick the Pens, the Red Wings are the best team in the NHL until someone proves otherwise. |

I don't know...do 19, 20, 21, and 23 year old players ever get better? Does another year together as a team help? Does experience, even maturity make a difference? Does the Stanley Cup saying "You have to lose before you can win" mean anything? Does motivation mean anything in this game? Does adding/trading for 3 veterans, their grit, and their 3 cup rings add anything to a team? Does the new coach help? Does it help that that your number 1 and 2 players are firing on all cylinders instead of being injured and slumping respectively like they were last year?
Tough questions for the casual hockey fan. Maybe its too easy just say "no" to all these factors and focus solely on Hossa. |
