Hi Everyone,
I found this kick-starter that folks might find interesting. It is a book by Philip Reed of battlegrip.com covering the action figure cases of the 70's, 80's and 90's including G.I. Joe and other of our favorite properties. I went ahead and backed the project, and looking at prior updates there is a lot of awesome stuff that will be covered in this book. It is pretty close to being funded, and most of the book looks to be already done, so hopefully will be a fast turn around on completion. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...graphic-overvi

We really need a good AFFORDABLE carry/ display case option for ME type figures. I have been wanting one for my main character casts from each Star Wars movie and then maybe each year of Joes and a main Cobra cast one so that's about 12 I would buy if there were such a thing.

That looks like it's going to be a very interesting book. I wish I had the money to get in on the kickstarter.

I backed, $28 for a hardcover isn't bad at all.
Looks to be very interesting. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...ervi?ref=email Quote:
Action Figure Carrying Cases
This 160-page hardcover follows the same physical format as four of my other books. With the book designed at 9-inches wide by 6-inches tall, the landscape design works perfectly for many of the vinyl carrying cases that were so popular decades ago. Many cases are given a single page, but there are some cases -- especially the cases that double as playsets -- that cover more space in the book. Inside we get a look at cases that act as vehicles, wearable cases, vinyl suitcase-like cases, and all sorts of other action figure carrying case designs of the seventies, eighties, and nineties.

Thanks for sharing the project! I'm close to completing the interior and started working on the cover this afternoon. If all goes well then the book will go to print next week.

Got my book yesterday! It's a really fun book and the turnaround time from funding to shipping was great!
Quick pics from my crappy cell...

I backed for the entire collection of books thus far, and wow I was impressed. I just finished reading the last of them, though I don't have a lot of interest in transformers so I just flipped through those(They appear to be really well done, but I'll probably sell them).
However the Star wars, 80's marketing. and action figure case books were just fantastic. I alternated between speechless and babbling as I read them. I drove my wife nuts showing her all the cool pictures of what cases I had, what cases friends had, and what items I had never seen or even heard of before I can't wait to see what book he does next
