Its like a gay guy got confused on whether he wanted to be goth or not, so he kinds stopped half way

I think its gone back to that era in the 80s-where the more you look like a girl = the more girls you get

I was a little star struck, and didin't want to come off like a Jerk so all I asked him about the Melvins was "So how long did it take you guy to figure out 'Halo of Flies'?" An Alice coper group cover they have been known to do live. He said, and I quote "a long time". I had a grin on my face for a few days after that haha!! To the original poster. These Guys are right, You might like the Melvins. Perhaps they are more up your alley. This is not there best song, but it's the one I talked about with Dale. You might like this better The Locoust aren't for everyone haha! Last edited by delta; 09-16-2008 at 06:59 AM.. |

I agree, Band of Horses definitely rocks. I'll add Minus the Bear into that mix too. Along with Built to Spill and Pinback. Some heavier stuff that I like is some instru-metal — Pelican, Russian Circles and Explosions In The Sky. Sounds weird at first without any lyrics, but then you just get caught up in the music itself. As for some old school punk, Fugazi, Bad Religion, 7 Seconds and Orange 9mm are always good fallbacks.

The truth is, its hard to be original. You do something for a living, you have a style. Its hard to do something not only totally new for you, but the whole music scene in general. Good music is still around. I just think most of its around on cds. Personally, I can only say what I like, but you know, sometimes you have to wander out of your comfort zone to find something new. Its hard to sit and listen to people complain about there being "nothing new" when there's stuff twenty years old that they never heard that might blow their mind. And I don't mean because they werent born yet, I just mean they never gave it a chance because of genre or label or something else. Listen to it, make up your mind, keep it or dont go back to it. Its simple. But music is one of those things that we take too personally sometimes. Seriously, my hero in life is a musician, Iand beyond anything else in the world, I credit him with saving my life. I would'nt be here to enjoy these great figures and everything else in life without him. But at the same time, he's not for everyone. And that's cool. He does'nt have to be for everyone, as long as he's still good for me. I guess, if you're so disenchanted with music, YOU make the good new stuff. Seriously. If you can put out something good.... I'd really like to hear it. Anything true to itself is good.

I don't watch Mtv or listen to the radio. Most of the current music I listen to comes from guys who still work day jobs or live with their parents lol.
