I don't know if you can call Gus Ferflop's acting good. Live it looks OK, but when they replayed it over and over he just looked silly. Then he took a knee TWICE on the way to the sideline. C'mon man, you didn't get the call already!!
I'm looking forward to signing a new QB over next summer. I don't think Ziggy is going to put up with any more of Chilly's projects. Monkeywrench and/or Major Blood, last Sunday was the first time I've watched Orton play, are you guys good with him being the Bears QB of the future or is he just a temporary solution?? |

I don't know man. I have always been a Grossman supporter and not a hater. I like having a QB with a great arm. Rex can make all the throws, he's a slinger and loves to throw the bomb. He just doesn't use his brain much and makes bad plays. He reminds me of Farve from 92-95. I've always hoped he would turn into that franchise QB.
Now with Orton, except for this game he has shown that he can run the O and make most of the throws. His deep balls are BAD. He can't throw an accurate deep ball at all. I do like his audibles and the way he plays. Out of the 2, he gives us the best chance to win. He does suck in the metrodome. He played bad last year too. I was at the game when he was driving at the end of the game and Berrian had Sharper beat down the middle of the field by 20 yards and Orton underthrew him right to Sharper. That would have gave us the go ahead TD with minutes left in the game. |

I'm really not trying to derail the thread. I've just always been confused by the fascination with watching others play a game that has no effect on the person watching it. Unless you have money on the game, I can't figure out how anyone can be on the edge of their seat over what happens in the game. But, I'm always a big supporter of getting off one's ass and doing it. This is why I support the quote that those who can't do end up teaching. In baseball, I can hit really well and I can round the bases, but I couldn't outfeild to save my life. I'm just looking for a little enlightenment on the subject. At least some enlightenment my brother hasn't exposed me to in the 28 years we've spent being related. |

This also carried over with my friends. I grew up with a "crew" of 11 guys. We all knew each other and hung out with each other from 12 years old until now. Sure some of us live in different areas and some I'm closer to than others but there is one thing we all talk to, text to and email to about. That is Football and how our teams are doing. We all played football in high school and on the "playground", but now nobody has time for that. We all have at least 1 job, most have wifes or long term gf's, and some have kids. Anyway want I'm trying to say, is it may seem silly to some but Football is a major thing in my life. I love history and the NFL has a pretty rich history. To me, there is nothing better than watching my Team win on Sunday. Then talk and argue about it Sunday night and all week long with my friends, family and co workers. Football is my escape from the real world. It gets me away from my GF, bills and work. My GF says all the time "why do you get so happy or so mad over the game? what do you get out of it?" I tell her, "it's not a game to me anymore, Chicago Bears football is just part of my life, Espcially from Sept-Jan." Last edited by Monkeywrench; 12-06-2008 at 08:09 AM.. |

Nah, you don't have too. Actually, it'd be better if you didn't.
Now, the Vikes playing the 0-12 Lions, that's a must win game. Imagine how silly the Vikings would look if they lost today. About as silly as the last time they lost to a 0-12 Lions team (2001)... |

If he plays like he did the first half of the season. Since that ankle injury he has struggled. He is a game manager usually but last week was sad. I've been waiting for Jim McMahon to mount a comeback. |

Yeah, I was just reading ESPN's fantasy stuff about how AP should have a big day today. But its the Vikings, and I've lived with too much pain over the years to be totally optimistic.
