I'm trying to figure out what it could be about. I called him back and got his voice-mail. I'm sure at some point he'll call back, but the suspense is killing me. I'm really curious if he is investigating a crime or something.
What I find interesting is that apparently he is from the next county's police dept, and not from the county where my house is located. But, he is from the area that I work. When I called him, his voice-mail message had the typical call 911 if it's an emergency, etc. But, one part indicated that if I am inquiring about a traffic fatality to make sure and state the case number, etc. That makes me think he investigates traffic related issues, but I can't fathom why he would try to contact me, or perhaps my wife. I mean, I've gotten ticketed by red light cameras in the past, but they simply send a ticket in the mail. Anyone know under what kind of circumstance that a police just leaves his card? I'm a curious person by nature, and I keep thinking about it hoping he'll call back. He indicated he works from 3 to mid-night, so hopefully he'll call back tonight. What's kind of odd is that my wife was working at home all day, and she told me no one rang the doorbell. However, he might have come when she went to pick up my daughter from school which was around 4pm. And, that kind of makes sense since I know from the voice-mail greeting that he starts work at 3pm. Edit: OK, I Googled the phone number with the extension and it does pull up various news stories about calling that number to contact the Accident Investigation Unit. However, the stories are from 2-3 years ago, so the contact name is different on both stories, but the number matches. Now, I'm trying to figure out how I can be helpful to them. Last year, huh? It's good to see they're on the ball.
Besides, if I was in trouble I don't think they'd leave a contact card. Talk about lazy. "You think you can make some time to come down to the precinct so we can arrest you.?" Last edited by sharky; 11-03-2011 at 08:08 PM.. |

He's probably doing a background check on someone who put you down as a reference...or he wants to put you in pound town.

Pretty sure it's something traffic accident related since that seems to be the division he is in. And, that's what is driving me nuts, because I haven't witnessed any accidents recently.

do not call him back! you cant talk yourself out of these situations. If you haven't done so yet drop off like 30grand with your lawyer. Bail is usually 10 percent so even if your held on a quarter mill, you can still bail out pay your lawyer for cumming down to get you. From here on out your going to have to black. Good luck and keep your head low, remember you don't know me.

Possibly a fatal accident near where you work? Maybe trying to locate some witnesses who didn't willingly come forward.

Maybe he saw you dancing in leather chaps at the one bar and liked what he saw. You remember which bar.
