Has anything like this ever happened to you guys, either in a normal shipping item or for those who ship items sold on E-bay?
Monday, 8/11, I shipped two boxes for my brother that he sold on E-bay. They both have insurance and delivery confirmation(as I refuse to ship anything without those two items), my card has been charged fully. We've been attempting to track those items since with it only showing no record which had me concerned. This evening(of course after the PO is closed) I decided to manually enter the tracking # into the USPS website myself instead of using the Paypal check shipment button. When I was doing this I noticed the postmark on both slips for the insurance and DC. This is the cute part. I shipped on 8/11. They're stamped 8/16. So now tomorrow I have to go down and find out where the boxes are and why she stamped them 6 days ahead of when I mailed them. Not to mention how this will look to his buyers. Anyone ever have their post office person do this? I hate to think mine is the only one out there. |

Maybe they saw something strange on the x-ray and had to call in the FBI to inspect your boxes! lol That is strange, all kidding aside, maybe they were short staffed and knew they couldn't get around to processing your packages until the 16th.

That's just it. My PO is staffed by one woman who stamped these the day I shipped them and handed them to me so they were stamped the 16th on the 11th. I just never looked until today. Duh! I never considered looking at postmarks before.

I'm hoping that's all it is and my poor little boxes are still moving somewhere and still not stuck down with her. I think what it was is that I was her last customer before lunch so that's another lesson learned. Never mail anything before lunch.

Mail that is postmarked is suppose to leave the building not later than 24 hrs after it is stamped.
I have had boxes stay a facility for 2 days, then appear at my door. The tracking system isnt up to the minute.... it is about 8-10 hrs behind sometimes ... best wishes

I always mail priority mail because once I asked how long normal post would take and they told me they always take care of priority first and then when they are done with it they work on parcel post. To me it sounded like "we will get to it when we have time"

Ah, but how does it work when she stamped it days ahead? I don't know what the postage sticker said since I never see those. I'd feel better if that tracking system at least said accepted. Right now all I'm getting is no record.
I accept the time it takes for delivery. What's got me is she stamped my slips wrong which is probably messing up the whole process. Guess I'll see what they say in the AM. |
