Back during the holiday season, I found a KB that had Super Hero Showdowns on clearance and I grabbed so many that on my way to the register I was mistaken for an employee. I doesn't matter what kind of shirt you wear but any polo shirt is a bad start. Every time I wear one it makes people think I can help them with their mundane wants and needs. If it ever gets me into the back room to pull out Joes I'll let you know. The shelves in MA are still empty.

People just don't take the time (or care) to look.

Happens to me at Wm when I am in a suit. I am always polite and tell them I am not an associate, but really I am like, "What?! I'm in a black suit with a lavender shirt and tie. Really??" I am not knocking WM associates at all, I just have never seen a WM employee SHOPPING WITH A BASKET in a suit and tie, as
1) I am SHOPPING WITH A BASKET, and 2) I am not in the appropriate attire. Heck, it happens at Target, Best Buy, J Crew, and TrU. Never at coffee shops, though. Or even my office! |

I get more questions now wearing a shirt/tie than I did when I wore other jobs polos into stores. Why would I be shopping for toys if I'm the manager? People in Wal-Mart are just so desperate for employees they'll ask anyone. I wouldn't step foot in one if it wasn't for toys.

Hey, Same story- I'd be in ToysRus in a suit and some harried mother and her 3 kids would start asking me where things are in the store. I just ignored her and walked away same deal at the k-mart. I just don't have enough time to care. When was the last time you saw a manager in kmart or toyrus strutting around in a suit. I guess I should just go beater-t and clam diggers with paint all over them, then maybe I'll get some leeway. |

It kinda sucks to wear any red into target. I got stopped by a old lady once but before she asked me a question she said, "you're wearing red but you don't work here right?" I nodded and smiled and we parted ways. lol
Damn Target and there trademark redshirts, why can't they were neon green or something like the hotdog on a stick people |

No matter what store I go to, if I find a bunch of toys that I need all at ounce, (such as a whole set Wave 9 figs or Wave 1 vehicles) people always ask if I work there because my arms are full of toys, and I say no. But 9 times out of 10, I help them, or at least find an employee for them. Now if I see a parent or kid looking for a particular action figure toy, I'll always help them. I'll ask them which one, and if we can't find it, I tell them which stores I've been to recently that might have it.
