I know we have a few other Springsteen fans on this board. And for anyone who has missed out on the 40 year party, check this out for some of the most soulfull sax that has ever graced rock n roll.

Sorry to all his fans. RIP man.

My son is heading into the 4th grade next year and our family is full of musicians on both sides. After trying all the instruments on band day two weeks ago he chose Alto Sax. For the past week I gave him a bunch of Springsteen to listen to on my old iPod while he's hanging out. He LOVES the stuff. My girl was a clarinet player so she's showing him around the instrument, and he loves it. I just got done telling him all about Clarence a few days ago. He's going to be bummed when I tell him tomorrow.
Rest in peace, Big Man. You'll be missed.

As a musician who works in rock bands I was glad he picked an instrument that will give him the solid foundation in the classical disciplines, but also has a good range of practical uses should he ever want to play in bands for fun as an adult. It's nice that my girl was a clarinet player. I can't play anything but strings, and fake my way around a piano a bit. I've got no experience with woodwinds or brass, so it's nice to have her to help him along.
