I still like some cartoons today but I don't really watch them unless I'm skipping through channels and can't find anything else to watch.
I'm happy that theres a lot more "adult" cartoons to watch but even those are hit or miss. |

I'll answer these the best I can:
1. Its the "indie" style. Everything looks really simple and like anyone can do it. I don't like it. I feel things should look highly stylized or realistic. It doesn't seem like the work of the LSD though. Maybe first year art school if supervised by a soccer Mom. Nothing is too offensive and everything is day glo colors. Everything seems to look like anime rejects as well. 3. Sooner you talk down to them, the sooner they'll want to grow up. One of my cousins is 7 and he's already grown out of toys and superheroes and is into doing what his dad does which is slacking. His dad is 40 and there isn't a single book in their house. I babysit one of my cousins and I never talk down to her. Yes, I use a cutesy voice. But I always hear her out. For 6 years old, she has some great ideas. I feel most children's programming talks down to kids instead of seeing them as intelligent and growing human beings. |

I actually have mixed feelings about cartoons of today. They got great story lines but are just horrible drawn! It would be kickass if we get animators of the 80's(GI Joe, MASK, TF, Visionaries) to work with today's storyboard writers! (Batman beyond, Teen Titans, Justice League)
