How the price system for graded toys/comics works.
I understand that a G.i.joe special(comic) AFAed at 9.8 is $260 and a 9.6 is $100. not AFAed is $80.00. Those prices just seem to random to me.What is a 10.0 worth? or a 8.0. Does the AFA have a set price on the different grades or do they just put random numbers on things and let the market determine the value? |

In all complete honesty, I think they pull it out of their giant collective ass. They seem completely random to me. Just my $.02 though.

I think anything rated by human beings will have a significant measure of subjectivity to it, not to mention economics/politics influencing their decisions (let's say, for example, if AFA is grading for a company who sells AFA-graded items who will send them bulk shipments to grade rather than a single person wanting a single item graded).
