yellowing canopies?

i got a 1983 hiss in the mail today. the turret even stays up. really looks great except for the canopy. it is yellowed.

my questions for you...

#1 how do you remove the canopy from a 1983 hiss tank? ANSWERED on page 2!

#2 has anyone used peroxide to de-yellow clear plastic canopies? was this successful?

#3 has anyone used meguiar's to de-yellow clear plastic canopies? was this successful? what process did you follow?

#4 what about removing the few scratches? is there a way to remove them from a clear canopy like this? now that i have the canopy off its easy to see them. its not too bad, but there are 2 that stand out.

I would think the peroxide soaking would work with it. It has had good results on white figures.

Taking it off you have to do carefully. It works the same as the 25th ones if I remember correctly but I would have to look when I get home to be certain.

There's something you can buy at the autoparts store... but the name escapes me.

The only concern I would have about peroxide is it fogging the plastic possibly. Maybe try it on something else first if you can. I'm sure you can find a replacement if needed.

other than the yellowing, this canopy looks real good, no scuffing and only two tiny white scratches. (paint?)

how do you remove the canopy, anyone? besides very carefully. : )

why not just switch it with a clear canopy from the 25th one...it should fit, I think
