I know that 10-15 years ago carded Funskool figures were going for around $5, but I guess with everything GIJoe, inflation is real, and vintage prices have skyrocketed in the past few years. I’m seeing carded Funskool figures going for $20, $30, $40 on eBay, both Indian and Russian variants, and not the rare figures that have always fetched high prices, but the “regular” ones. What do you guys think a decent price is for Funskool carded figures? I understand that they are of lower quality compared to the US releases, though some have reported that they are still decent quality, but is there a point that the price is just too high for what they are?

Any carded Funskool figure over 30 bucks is waaaay too high, all the power to anyone that wants to pay more though for cheap quality.

Whenever I look it seems to be around 30 or 40 depending on the character. I paid a little less for Storm Shadow, Scrap-Iron and Night Viper when I got back into Joe collecting in 2013.

I'd avoid them at the current prices. There are some cool ones, but most of them are pretty inferior to their US counterparts, so if the price is approaching or at what those go for, easy pass. The quality isn't awful, they're somewhere between the US releases and South/Central American in terms of paint masks and plastic quality. The main issue I always had was some of the accessory colors and choices, in some cases- it's like they just grabbed a handful of whatever and chucked it in.

It was a great way to get a carded camo Storm Shadow for very cheap, but the card is kind of wavy so I put them in Protech Star cases and they look great. I know the Baroness one is pretty pricey, it was actually cheaper to find a custom recarded one on Ebay.

Yeah prices are crazy these days. About 15 to 20yrs back I had an amazing connect that would ship me crates of these for pennies on the dollar. Literally bit we cost me more to ship than I paid for the boxes. I would often open up the vehicles just to see what mystery figure was tossed in and donate the vehicles. I can't tell yiu hom many Skystrikers sealed i sold for $25 or painted for customs.

I grabbed a few of the fun paint jobs carded years back when prices were $25 or under. Like most Joe stuff now, unfortunately I just pretty much avoid picking it up on eBay due to prices. Hopefully I’ll get some cool o ring stuff again when I start going back to toy shows.
I do really enjoy the Funskool guys I have though. Grabbed Jetpack Hawk & Gridiron to keep carded and love those. Then a Sonic Fighters Psych-Out open because it was cheaper to grab him carded to open from Funskool than it was to find a US version with all of his gear.

Thanks for all the replies. There were a couple of carded Funskool figures I was considering, but wanted to get an idea of a fair/decent value for them from the community here, regardless of what people are asking/paying on eBay. So I went ahead and picked up a carded Storm Shadow V2 for $23 free shipping, and a carded Toxo Viper for $17 free shipping. Cards are in good condition, though a little wavy due to the thin card stock. I jumped on them because they seemed to be much better deals than what everyone else was asking for on eBay. They are the Russian Funskool variants, I didn’t even realize these existed, but I thought these looked pretty cool. The main reason I picked these up is because Storm Shadow V2 is my favorite figure, and I have a loose one and a carded from Hasbro (though there’s some bubble separation where the accessories are), so I really liked the idea of picking this Russian one up to display along side the carded American one. I cannot resist variants of V2 Storm Shadow. I also like Toxo Viper, and the price just felt right. I plan to keep these carded, (I have loose Hasbro examples of both these figures) so plastic quality is not a huge issue. I’m not planning on getting into carded Funskool Joes, since I’m really more of a loose collector, but these 2 seemed like decent deals considering today’s market, so I pulled the trigger.

Yeah hindsight is 2020 in all honesty I never figured they would ever be sought after. For the most part the quality just wasn't the same and they were just so readily available. Of course at lot of that was because they were being made right up until the early 2000s. I kept very little mostly a bunch of the Cobra parachutes that was included with Wild Weasel and a lot of the figure stands as they had slots on them that held file cards really well. I do still have a painted Skystriker that I turned into a Night Force Boomber and the original box because it was better than the OG US with a nice glossy finish and had the "awarded best toy of they year" printed on it.
