I have the vintage vehicles out, vintage figures boxed up. Figure the ME can be on display and are much easier to replace

Vintage and modern vehicles displayed on shelves, vintage figures in special display cases in one room. New sculpt stuff (2000-2006) and 87-94 figures in drawers.

Some is displayed and some is stored. I rotate things in and out of my display like a museum. Love the stuff.

I've had my old collection stored away for decades and just recently took them out and noticed the o-rings stretching or drying up brittle and breaking apart.
So recently, I've started going through the process of taking them apart and replacing the o-rings and MY what a feeling of satisfaction I have been getting by having brand new o-rings in them! Lots of these figures have great sentimental value for me so to be able to fix them up (even if a cherished figure like Storm Shadow has yellowed considerably), has been feeling great and I've been displaying each one as I fix them. I've also now started looking through ebay and picking up weapons and accessories that I've lost along the way. The goal is to have my small vintage collection of two dozen figures or so, be in the best and complete shape I can get them! |

My Joe collection is probably about 30 percent vintage and Funskool, about 40 percent 25th, with the rest being a combination of SDCC stuff, Collector's Club stuff, Pursuit of Cobra / movies stuff, and a bit of the 90's TRU and ARAH stuff from the 2000's.
My "heavy hitters", or my absolute favorite carded figures (with the classic explosion backgrounds) are in Protech cases on the wall of my man-cave, mixed in with Star Wars, Marvel Universe figures, NECA AVP figures, Star Wars Black Series, Funko Pops, Marvel Legends, DC Multiverse, and a few other things. Vehicles and other figures are in plastic bins. These are not as valuable, figures I wouldn't mind if a little humidity or heat damage came to them. |

I have a pretty large vintage collection, i'd say 90% of all the figures released from 82-94 and a ton of 80's vehicles. I like to keep them in storage for long periods of time, then tell myself that it's silly to just keep them boxed up and tucked away and decide to sell them. I then like to pull them out and begin the sorting process of what i'm going to sell individually and what i'll sell as lots. About halfway through the sorting process I will decide that I love them, and no longer wish to sell them. I then place them back in storage. I like to do this about every 6 months.

Ive got the jets hanging from the ceiling over an old curio cabinet. Five shelves with enough room for 1 vehicle and multiple Joes each. Star Brigade on top special teams next shelf down, cobra, python patrol/tiger force then standard joes on bottom. I let my son borrow a few at a time with the exceptions of more expensive guys(night force, TF UK, Storm Shadow 1, Snake eyes 2, etc.)
I am running out of space and will have to start rotating figures soon. O-ring only too. My son has no respect for the new figs because thet ca t stand up on their own according to him. |
