I always looked for SE and SS, asked for them for every birthday, Christmas, but never got them. Finally got the 88 and 89 ones, but it was impossible to find the earlier ones in the wild.

I started collecting in the mid-to-late of 86 and I never found Mainframe or Wet Suit, everbody else after that till I stopped in 91 was easy to find, to me at least.
I never bet the Fett man!

I never had trouble finding any of the figures in my years of vintage collecting (82-93). This is an intresting topic because my friend and I were discussing how easy it was to find them ,and other lines, back in the day. The only figure he could never find was Snake Eyes v3. But I d echo the sentiments abut Zartan.
Found him once never saw him again. I also had a friend back then that desperately wanted Road Pig but couldn't find him for some reason. I guess I was lucky enough to be at the right places at the right times. Got everthing
With no trouble at all.

I don't remember which figures where hard to find in the 80's but I do remember that I could never find a Firefly or Storm Shadow, I eventually got them through trades though, so I guess that's my answer.

I only ever found firefly one time and got him. I never saw a cobra bat on the pegs but got him for Christmas one year. The real trick was not finding the figures back in the day but saving enough lunch money and finding the transportation with permission to buy the figures.

I don't remember ever having a problem with finding Joes... Transformers on the other hand were a pain! Hardest figure to find was Sideswipe.

For me it was 85 Snake-Eyes.....Kmart never had him, TG&Y never had him, and went I went to my grandparents in New Orleans and they took me to Children's Palace...they never had him.
I remember seeing the card art on other figures I wanted him so bad.....then one day after school my mom went to pick up a prescription at Eckerds and low and behold there he was!!!! I begged and pleaded and mom bought him for me.......I now own about 5 of them now, LOL.

On my last day of summer vacation in California, I went into K-Mart and saw one and only one SS (84). I had already spent all my $$ so my Auntie (Who lives in Cali) bought it for me. I still remember the price: $2.99. I never did see another one and I still have him to this day. He's kinda yellow, but I have him.

Snake eyes 85 and storm shadow 84 were impossible to find back then. I remember all the other figs were pretty much peg warmers but those 2 , every kid wanted those.
