Hi guys,
I'm looking to get some repro stickers for the USS Flagg. Any suggestions on the best place to get them? I've contacted Ruben about them and his prices are good but last I heard he was out. Cobra Stickers has a set but at $100, that's just out of my price range. Suggestions? |

I would reccommend Cobrastickers.com but as you mentioned, it is very expensive. I realize the Flagg is big and all, but that price seems a bit high when compared to the rest of the sets on that site.
EDIT: Damn! I just checked their site and they are having a sale! I just ordered some stickers 2 days ago and NOW they are on sale!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!! Last edited by Ruination04; 12-02-2009 at 11:58 PM.. |

Are the stickers from CobraStickers precut? Do they also have the similar gloss like the originals?

From everyone I know that is restoring GI-Joe vehicles and customizing them they say Cobrastickers.com is THE place to go and that they are the most accurate. I have noticed that Cobrastickers.com products POP more on darker vehicles like the Hiss, Dragonfly, and the Rattler as well. They are more noticeable and cleaner I think then even the originals.
The best thing I could tell you to do is find a cheap set they have and buy those, and then buy an identical set from a competitor and check em out. ALSO ask if they have sample sets. Many companies do produce sample sets of their works. The USS FLAGG however is a BIG playset that has quite a few more stickers then a normal playset. It's also got some large scale decals as well. So remember it's gonna cost money just to produce those, let alone markup to make a small profit on them. I'll bet that the cost to produce those FLAGG decals are higher then normal. In any event Here is a lsiting of stickers I have found throughout the years. Cobra Stickers, Replacement and restoration stickers for classic G.I. Joe vehicles. Welcome to the 334th Joe Company Catalog These are the places I know of minus one guy in Mexico that's on this forum somewhere. Best bet cobrastickers.com |

That'd be Ruben, as mentioned in the OP's post. I've used his stickers a lot; he does brilliant work.

I've heard a lot of customizers and restorers whose opinions I respect say that Rubens' decals are top notch, but aren't they the ones that aren't precut? I myself have bought and used Cobrastickers decals, and while they look really really great, I have found them to be slightly stiffer than I like, and one of the sets the die cut left a lot of blank vinyl around the tampo, so much that I needed to trim them before application. Of course, YMMV. |

I hear more and more about this guy Rubens. As far as stickers being uncut or leaving too much vinyl around the decals, I woulda thought you all would be grabbing a NEW Xacto blade and cardboard to cut in OR a cutting board, and trim the decals down anyhow. I always try to trim as much off the decal as possible so that it looks painted on, even waterslide decals. I ALWAYS trim to the smallest tolerance possible without killing the actual graphic. Just looks better in my opinion.

I've only used Ruben's, having to cut them yourself might be a slight pain if you are impatient... for me, it helps me slow down and apply the stickers properly.

isn't there a way to to find a jpeg of the stickers and print them on a printer that is one solid sticker and just cut them? I don't know if something like that exists but I'm sure there is a way. it may not be a "official" but the next best thing
