I don't think that any JPEG that you'd find on the internet will be hi-res enough to give a solid print.

most printers do not print in white , I have tried scanning and printing my own decals on decal paper , they came out ok , but like I said , NO WHITE ! You have to have an expensive printer for graphics and such I guess .

Some on ebay range from $299-$699 but too much money now to repleace one since ink is hard to come by as well.

That's exactly how JRuben's makes his decals, on a computer BUT you really shouldn't use JPEGS.
To make perfect decals you really need 2 things....
1- Adobe Illustrator or some other VECTOR GRAPHICS DRAWING PROGRAM. Vector Graphics are re sizable without losing any image quality. JPEG's and programs like photoshop are actually "painting" programs that use Raster Graphics which are Pixel based. So pixel based is JUST like tv, the less pixels you have the worse the picture looks as it gets bigger. Raster Graphics have many limitations making them BAD CANDIDATES for decals.
2- and probably most important is the type of printer. You really need a Dye Sublimation Printer that can print in WHITE. Printing in white allows you have crisper, cleaner, more vibrant images, while still having your transparent areas by using clear decal paper. If you print on an inkjet or laser printer and there's white in your design you then need to print on WHITE DECAL PAPER which now poses a BIG problem... anywhere that should be transparent in your decal, will now need to be cut out, otherwise you'll have white behind the actual graphic which WILL LOOK TERRIBLE against most backgrounds unless your background is white, and even then over time as the decals and paint fades due to light, temperature constraints, etc etc you're almost certainly going to see the "yellowing" affect.
So that' s the key to printing quality decals. Oh one last thing oops, you gotta use quality decal paper. there are in fact different grades and cheaper quality is most certainly going to waver on things like durability, vivid color consistency, and tolerance to things like daylight! I've seen MANY inkjet and laser printer printed decals that also allow background colors to bleed into the decal, darkening it after it's applied and that looks horrible. That happens because the ink isn't transferred to the paper in a solid enough state, leaving a bit of transparency in the decal. YUCK YUCK YUCK lol

ThMick is absolutely right.
Professional Printers CAN create high quality decals for you at a VERY affordable price. Some Printers however charge MORE for small print runs, and some won't touch a project for just 1 or 2 prints. It depends BUT if you do your research on printers even by calling one or two they'll be happy to help you find the best printer to accommodate you.
I had been thinking of doing this for some of my custom F-14 Skystriker projects.
I have HIGH RESOLUTION images of many carrier wings for the F-14. They are larger scale so I was thinking about sizing my graphics how I want them and getting some custom decals made.
I'd order roughly 3 sets of each design so if I choose to make more I have a library of decals.
LOTS of options out there!
