One of my 80's Joes had really loose arms, so I added a little super glue to the should sockets. The joints are now tighter, but there is an ugly white residue in that area now from the glue. Is there any way to remove this?

Yeah, your best bet is to just use a wet scrub sponge to get it off. I wouldn't throw an chemicals on it.

you arnt supposed to use super glue. it eats plastic and makes it ugly. you are supposed to use fingernail laquer. put one coat on the joint let it dry. apply another coat 10 minuts later. let dry another 10 minuts and then reassemble the figure

I have some stuff at home that is a superglue remover but with a light application it will remove the residue without comprimising the super glue. We used this quite often when I worked for a circuit board manufacturer. Will post the name later.

Thanks. I scraped it off the best I could, and used water on it, but it still needs some work.

To remove the white residue I use Loctite X-NMS Clean up solvent Item No. 76820. Not sure where you can get it but it works great. A light application is all you'll need.

And that's only if the problem is that the joint itself is loose, sometimes it's that the o-ring (which adds friction to the arm joint) is a little too thin. Try a new or thicker o-ring and the arms may tighten right up
