Hey guys I'm from Ireland and just found your wonderful site via Google. not sure if this is in the correct section etc but please hear me out and appologies if I've posted in the incorrect place.
I have 32 original action figures from the 80's that were my childhood favourite toys. They have no cards are out of packaging have some weapons but not all and some in need of repair due to perished rubber bands etc. They have been in my parents attic in a box for the bones of 20 years, I had more but I think my dad let the grandkids loot the box from time to time. Anyway I was wondering if anyone could tell me if these are worth anything, if I put them on ebay am I better off selling figure by figure or as a job lot? Any idea of prices etc. I am no collector just a guy with a bunch of old toys no longer needed. I will repair the broken ones over the weekend, pair up the figures with the weapons and take pictures. It’s a shame to have these wrotting in the attic and if I can make a few bucks from them then great Any help appreciated |

Hey Skillie, it really just depends on what you have.
Most likely, if they are damaged or if you played with them alot when you were younger, they won't be worth a ton of money. However, you might have some of the UK exclusive figures, and those are really popular here in the states. I am sure alot of the guys here will offer to "help" you out. But beware of anybody that offers to buy them from you before you find out exactly what you have. If you want to check out GiJoe figures and identify what you have, there is an excellent website called Yo Joe! | The 3 3/4" G.I. Joe Collector's Site — With Daily G.I. Joe News and Discussions on that website, you can see what you have and what weapons are supposed to come with each figure. (I went to Ireland a few years ago, and they were the nicest people out of every country I have ever visited. Just trying to return the favor) CHEERS! |

cheers for the quick response. I'm not expecting to make vast sums from them but think if i can get a few bucks and see them go to a good home also that would be awesome.
I always knew they were there and didn't want them thrown away as i'd loved them so much when i was a kid. The hours and days i spent playing with those things was nobodies business!! I'll be back with lists of names and pics when i can. ps glad you enjoyed ireland, if we could only control the rain we'd be doing great!! |

yojoe.com also has a price guide listing (temporarily down currently); although actual market prices are hard to nail down since the rise of ebay. essentially, something is worth exactly as much as somebody will pay for it, but some things are worth a little more or a little less in reality.

The forum only allows 4 pics per post so here is a link to a thread i started on an Irish Forum about the same topic complete with pics of the 32 Joes I own.

Nice attic find. I enjoy hearing how others have found such wonderful things.
As for Price, take a look at Ebay, it is usually a good judge as to how much a person will pay for 80's Joes.
