I was just wondering about this. I know some folks over on the GI Joe Club forum really like their O-rings, but I never see them mentioned here, and all the customs on the front page and most of the signature pics are 25th.
It seems that a lot of people here got out of Joe and only got back in with the 25th. Or is it just that most of the discussion here is news and there is no O-ring news? Kevin |

I'm still an O-Ring fan and I have my old school joes. Even thou lately I'm selling some just to get some extra cash. I thou prefer some of the less popular years from Gijoe.

Me too. There are quite a few figures from 90 - 94 that I would love to see modernized. A lot of the figures in my collection that I cherish the most are all o-ringed: My Iron Grenadiers, Mission Brazil, The Fridge (FTW! ), my minty copperhead v1...the list goes on & on. So to the OP...we haven't forgotten o-rings. Although they're not the topic of current discussion, they always have a place here. |

while i'm not a big o ring fan anymore i still have a huge love for them as well as own all my favorites and then some had the 25th style come out in 2005 i don't think i would have bought them....like hell they are just so awesome looking i could never resist. i do miss the ease of customizing the o-ring based figs had i'm to afraid to crack these new ones

False. Many people here have almost every single o-ring figure released in the U.S., not counting many who have just as many international figures. There's plenty of threads about old figures. Most people are more intrigued by what's available now, since they're a lot more impressive than the older figures are.
Okay, well maybe hate is a strong word... but I gotta admit, I got the same impression as the original poster, and I've been a member of various Joe forums since '03. Not saying it's a bad thing necessarily - just that I've noticed more new fans here than old. As for me, the o-ringed figures will always be #1 in my book. No matter how good SOME of the new ones look, they aren't the originals! (And a lot of the originals have better articulation, and used new parts more often, too!)

I also love the Big O...
Rings, that is! LOL I only have about 4 or 5 25th Ann. figures. My collection consists of VvV and SpyTroops figs because I think they're more durable. I don't know if it's the new guys' material or sculpts but the feel like they're gonna break. And I can't really get comfortable customizing them--seems like a pain to split apart & paint with all the little joints and what-not. I was born & will die lovin' the O-ring. There's my 2 cents.

I grew up playing with O-ring Joes so just for nostalgia's sake I still love them. That said, I just think that the 25th/Current designs of Joes are vastly superior figures, but I still love my old Joes.

I have completed my o-ring collection for now, just concentrating on 25th/modern and ROC stuff. I have loads of vintage figs and vehicles, re-collected the o-ring line back in the 90s. I just spend my spare money on new stuff now.
