Who put your GI Joe toys together when you were a kid? Did you do it yourself or did a parent/guardian assemble them? If you did it with their help, who did more of it? Did you or they enjoy putting them together?
I usually did most of the assembly, sometmes with my dad helping. I liked putting them together and think he did too. |

Me, myself and I were the only ones that built my Joe vehicles and play sets. Everything from my PAC/RATs to the USS FLAGG were built with my own hands.

my dad did it, which is what led to my Rattler having the wheels put in the wrong way (wheel out, not in) and the one wheel snapping off on Christmas Day.

I began my action figure journey at 3, and hit on GIJoe around 5, so it started out with my pops assembling things (and having an infant brother, usually stashing accessories), with me slowly graduating to doing it myself. My dad was a pretty good sport about it if I remember, though it's impossible to be sure being so young. I personally loved doing it myself, unless I broke a tab or something.

I put all of my vehicles together as a kid. I remember staying up until 2 am on Christmas night putting together my Whale that didn't come with the blueprints.

I put them together myself.
It's funny, when I restore vehicles as an adult, I'm amazed my little self was able to successfully assemble certain vehicles like the Moray without adult help. I remember breaking the center bit on the guns on the Polar Battle Bear that I wasn't supposed to break, and by doing so, they didn't slide side to side like they were supposed to. I skipped that part on the instructions, haha.

I put everything together myself, but I wasn't allowed to have Joes until I was five, so I was old enough. I did a good job, but my decal placement was pretty crap.
