I felt dumb tonight that it took me this many years to think of this, so I thought I'd share in case anyone on here is as dumb as me.
Keeping the arms in place while trying to put a figure back together has always been a pain. Tonight I put a piece of masking tape across the front of the figure before taking it apart. Voila, Bob's your uncle.

For most figures I use a #9. I seem to remember that figures from 82 use a #8. I get them in the plumbing section at the hardware store. A pack of 10 runs about $2 -$3.

Thanks I believe the 9 is what I use. I just wonder if there is another size maybe slightly bigger that does not cause as much tension with the waste piece which can result in broken crotches.

Don't mean to butt in, but I've found them to be a bit loose. I typically just buy the lots of 50 or 100 you see from the Chinese sellers on ebay, they're pretty good, and cheap. My local climate is death on o rings, so it's nice to keep a good amount on hand.

If the 9 is causing problems being too tight, you may also try putting it over some needle nose pliars and stretching it out a bit before putting it in the figure.

Glad this thread is about action figures.
Thought you might have blown out your o-ring and dropped a lung.
