That does seem to be the trend, I lucked out with the bulk of my vintage buying while the 25th were new... of course, I also lost my ass selling my army builders while the Ret figures were out. 20 NM complete 86 Vipers, at an average of $8 a pop, some as low as 4. of course, it didn't help that I listed them all together and flooded the market with my own stuff. Lessons!

That's because no one wanted to dump their collections to buy force awakens figures. in a similar vein, new sculpt figures did nothing to drop Joe prices, because the old ones were still more desireable. Once the modern stuffshowed up, the prices went down and stayed until they stopped producing new figures. Now that it's been a few years, the prices are back to slightly above pre modern, and I'd predict a similar drop if the new toys have any appeal. All of this has really affected my buying habits in both figures and video games- I buy last generation's console only once the latest has come out and I can get everything at rock bottom prices, because people are trying to offload and apply the money towards the new.

Ain't that the truth. Though I have purchased some new games, I have an embarassing amount of games I realistically will never get to that I paid less than 5 bucks each for when the last gen ended.

I wish I'd have figured out the buying of last gen games ages ago though... Thinking of what I've spent on SNES games makes me ill, if I dwell on it too long!

That’s irrelevant to what we’re saying about a line relaunch, as you’re talking about current Star Wars prices, not prices from 2015-2017. In 2015, after the Force Awakens (a extremely successful and generally well liked film) the prices of previous good Star Wars figures skyrocketed (an average of a $15 figure going up to $30, and a $30 figure going up to $80), but then in 2017, after the Last Jedi (a extremely divisive film) prices started to slowly decrease as Star Wars hype was pretty much killed and Star Wars figures selling was no longer considered a stable market.

Star Wars market is completely saturated right now. All I see is star wars toys at toy shows. You be lucky to find 1 or 2 vendors selling GI joe
