I had a friend that took one karate class in the 5th grade and thought we was instantly a ninja.
He also watched a Vietnam movie and said he had the "thousand yard stare." But the lamest was when they'd yell out "Yo Joe!" while playing. I know it was the slogan... but it was sooo lame when you actually said it. |

I never really went against friends. i did when i was 5 and such. but after i grew up, My friends and I would just have some wicked story lines of Joes Vs Cobra, where we palyed people on both sides. Made our own story etc. Good tiiimmeeess...
But, there was always the kid, who mad e the joes fight with thier heads. did the annoying slam them feet first on enemies (marking the shit out of the poor guy getting stomped.) Had horrid sound effects. Never freakin died. |

One day a kid down the street came over to play with my Joes... he didn't have any... so we go to the carport and set up this epic scene or rather I did.. and he chose to be GI Joe.. which was cool I didn't mind..
But the big thing that bothered me was he kept insisting on picking up the Mauler and pretending it could fly and shoot me from the air.. I kept telling him to use the Damn Skystriker but that Tanks DONT FLY. Anyway.. he kept it up till I told him I heard his mom calling him and he went running home. I got to finish my scene without any more idiocy. My Dad still ribs me to this day about that.. he said I was really mean to that kid.. LOL..

I had some cousins who were jealous of the Joes my brother and I had, they managed to break and or lose something every time they came over, including snapping the landing gear on my Sky Striker.
One time I was playing Joes with a neighbor kid and my Alpine came up missing, this kid had more stuff then I did and I was almost certain he hadn't taken it but I went to his house to ask him if he had seen it or maybe grabbed it by mistake, kids dad went ballistic screamed and cussed me out said we could never play together again. Being a kid I was a bit confused and a little upset after getting yelled at for asking if this kid had seen my fig and of course when I got home there was Alpine hanging on a tree stump by his grappling gun. I felt like an a$$ and even though I squared up with my friend we never did play Joes again. |
