Straight arm figs and "regular" ones please.
I supposedly bought a 1982 straight arm snake eyes and tried to compare to a regular one. I tried looking at the differences on Google images and can't seem to figure it out. Thanks. |

Found the answer to my own question lol.
The original series of G.I. Joe toys released in 1982 are known as "Straight Arm" figures. This is because the arms could bend at the elbow, but could not swivel from side to side like the subsequently released figures. All of the figures that had this type of articulation were later updated to have the "New Swivel Arm Battle Grip" in 1983. |

Correct. The 82 figures at V1 figures, and the 83 figures are V1.5 as they have the swivel at the biceps. Check out YoJoe.com if you want to compare figures.

The waist/crotch pieces are also different between the 82 and 83 versions.
